February 2019 - No further development will be taken, see below
Following a meeting with the Planners at the Council Offices to discuss the plan, whilst the plan needs further work for the Council to approve the document, during the discussions is was identified that the situation has changed, and whilst and interesting document it could if approved only be used as information of interest, ie would not help us when fighting major developments. The new document that is now needed is a Neighbourhood Plan, these are major documents and a huge investment in time and effort, whilst these do carry more weight for planning decisions, it must in effect reflect what is in the local plan, which as you know Tendring Council are still working on.
Following our committee meeting to discuss the above, and the discussion at the AGM, it has been decided for the immediate furture no further action will be taken on the Village Plan, and decisions regarding whether a Neighbourhood plan is completed may be looked into again at some point in the future.
The village plan was started in 2013, by a sub committee of the Kirby le Soken Village Presevation Society.
The document has taken a number of years to evolve. The document is now awaiting approval by the council, but can now be viewed in its final format prior to approval, (see comments above). It should also be noted that whilst the action plan has been drafted this will need further work but has been included as a flavour of what will be included in the final document, should a Neighbourhood plan be written.
