Kirby-le-Soken Village Preservation Society was set up initially to preserve the village environment. Gradually and more recently our role has changed. It is clear to the Committee from
the Village Plan that the Society, organised in 2014 and the majority of the residents, live here because they like the area and the village atmosphere. Today the village is being
threatened by mass housing development and the creation of this website is to enable better communication and sharing of information.
The main goal of Kirby-le-Soken Village Preservation Society is to continue in our role but, with the creation of this website, involve others so that we can increase the sense of community leading to more personal involvement, possibly more cultural, educational and social activities. This in turn should help us to create a more cohesive community and a better place for us all to live.
The website has been created and funded by the Kirby-le-Soken Village Preservation Society to keep the residents of Kirby-le-Soken informed of events in the village as well as issues that may affect the village.
It is early days and it is not clear how this website will progress, but it is hoped that it will become the village voice / parish magazine of the future. As such, its sucess will be dependent on the use and input of the village residents.
At present the website is managed by volunteers and whilst we will make every effort to keep as up to date as possible it is anticipated that we will update approx 2/3 times a month.
If anyone would like to volunteer to take the website forward and manage it the Kirby-le-Soken Village Preservation Society is looking for a someone to do just that - so please contact us.
